international Transfers
Admission requirements
International transfer admission is based on your most recent grade-point average and academic standing.

To be considered for admission to USW, you must satisfy the following admission criteria:
-
Minimum 2.0 GPA (4.0 scale)
-
Good standing at all previous institutions
-
Demonstrated proficiency of the English language is required for all international applicants whose sole and official language is not English and who have not studied full-time for one uninterrupted academic year at a university-level institution in which English is the language of instruction
-
Submit an official bank statement or current financial letter of support (within the last 6 months) showing the ability to finance the estimated cost of attendance for one year

International transfer students who do not meet the GPA requirement will be required to submit an appeal to be reconsidered for admission. International transfer students who left most recent institution on academic or disciplinary probation or suspension will be admitted on academic probation if appeal is approved.
HOW to apply
If you are not a U.S. citizen and plan to transfer to USW from a U.S. college or university with a current F-1 student visa to pursue an undergraduate degree, you are in the right spot and are one step closer to officially becoming a Mustang!

Follow these steps to apply as an International Student:
completed your application?
Once your application and all required documentation has been received, allow three (3) business days for your application to be processed. Upon receipt and processing, you will be sent an acknowledgement via email by the Director of Undergraduate Enrollment and a Transfer-In Form that must be completed by your previous institution and returned in order for your active visa information to be updated. Next steps, additional information, further requests (if applicable), and initial admission decisions will be shared via email.

If you are then offered admission to USW, it's time to start planning for Annual Student Orientation! You will receive details for this via email.

Admitted international students should also make arrangements for their International Check-In, which will be scheduled with you via email.
