Counseling Services

Welcome to USW Counseling Services.  We aim to assist USW students needing help with addressing any personal, emotional, social, and/or mental health problems while pursuing their educational goals at USW.
Counseling services are free of charge to all USW students, residing locally, and include:
  • Individual counseling
  • Crisis intervention
  • Group counseling
  • Referrals to other services and resources
  • Telehealth counseling through HealthiestYou (available to all USW students)- please contact your Student Support Director to enroll if you prefer this option

If you or someone else is experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please call 911.

If you are experiencing a crisis and needing immediate assistance: please call Director of Counseling Services at 575 492-2104 or Campus Security at 575 942-5902.  If unable to reach either, please see “24/7 Crisis Help Resources” at bottom of page.

  • Students new to USW counseling services: click on above “Request an Appointment” to request a counseling appointment and schedule online through a secure client portal.  Please make sure to complete intake forms in client portal before your first appointment to avoid having to complete them at beginning of first appointment.

  • Students who have received USW counseling services: click on above “Follow-up Appointment” to login and request and schedule a counseling appointment online in secure client portal.

  • If you’re having difficulties scheduling an appointment online, prefer not to schedule an appointment online, or have any questions, please contact Director of Counseling Services- see contact information listed below.

  • PLEASE NOTE: because email is not a secure form of communication or monitored 24/7, it is not advised to email Director of Counseling Services if in crisis and/or for sending personal or sensitive information.
