MSE Alternative Licensure

The USW Graduate degrees in Educational Administration, Educational Specialist and Educational Diagnostics also provide candidates the opportunity to complete the necessary coursework for Alternative Teacher Licensure in the State of New Mexico. Upon completion of the classes identified by the state and University of the Southwest, students are prepare to take the New Mexico state licensing exams, New Mexico Teacher Assessments (NMTA).

The classes taken towards Alternative Licensure all count towards Education Graduate degrees at University of the Southwest. This allows students to finish their masters following Teacher Licensure, within one year of being licensed.
