Winners announced for Southwest Creations literary contest.

April 29, 2019 — Francesco Brunetti, Kerry Dessalines, William Foote, and Seth Palmer are the first-place award winners in the 2019 Southwest Creations literary contest.

Brunetti and Dessalines won first place in poems, Foote won in essays, and Palmer won in short stories.

Kayla Duran and Gabriel Mousa both received second place in poems, and Briana Brock and Priscilla Garcia both received third place in poems.

Julia Norder was the second-place winner in essays. Tina Dueck received third place in essays.

Winning second-place in short stories was Kristin Calhoun-Wood.

Southwest Creations is a writing contest sponsored by English honor society Sigma Tau Delta at University of the Southwest. With over 900 active chapters located in the United States and abroad, the honor society has more than 1,000 faculty advisors, and approximately 9,000 members inducted annually.
