Sigma Tau Delta Raffle Winner

May 17, 2018

Brenda Trevino of Hobbs was the winner of an iPad Mini in a raffle sponsored by English honor society Sigma Tau Delta at University of the Southwest.

Conducted over the past month by members of Sigma Tau Delta, the raffle raised $1,016, above the honor society’s $800 goal. The raffle will help fund a trip to the annual conference for several USW students in March 2019.

USW student and softball player Unique Stock sold the winning ticket to Trevino. Jamiah Evans, president of the USW chapter, pulled the winning ticket in the campus library.

Sigma Tau Delta is open to undergraduate and graduate students who have completed the freshman composition courses and hold a B average. The lifetime membership of $45 allows members access to various scholarships, and the chance to attend and present papers at the annual conference, among other benefits.
