A dynamic program, the Athletics Department offers a range of intramural and intercollegiate sports to its students. Athletes at University of the Southwest participate in the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC), an affiliate member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). University of the Southwest’s core values of respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership and sportsmanship are supplemented by our participation in the national Champions of Character program, a national initiative through the NAIA for colleges and universities.
University of the Southwest demonstrates its value of physical wholeness throughout its resources including our new Jack & Mabel Maddox Student Life Center. The center provides a regulation-sized basketball court and a state-of-the-art physical fitness center. Our campus also boasts well-maintained soccer and baseball fields and students may make use of the city of Hobbs’ golf course, softball field, and tennis facilities. All students have access to sports through facilities, supervising personnel and a quality overall experience.
